Digital Communications Volunteer

As a Digital Communicator with you will support the charity in raising the profile of our work through social media platforms. This is an opportunity to develop skills related to communications, from developing eye catching to writing engaging copy.

What You'll Do:
  •  This is a remote opportunity; volunteers can undertake tasks from home.
  • Assist in the creation and scheduling of social media posts for Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
  • Design high quality graphics for online and print promotion of our events (volunteers will learn how to use Canva – a graphic design tool).
  • Help us increase our reach by writing engaging copy for our website and social media channels.

Have a read of this blog from Freya, who was a Digital Communications Volunteer in 2021: https://healthwatchgreenwich.co.uk/blog/2021-08-26/hear-our-volunteers-digital-communications-volunteer  to learn more about the role .

Why You'll Love It:
  • Play a vital role in shaping health and social care services in Greenwich.
  • Make a positive difference in your community, and ensure that their voices are heard on matters that are important to them.
  • Support the charity in ensuring that tangible and meaningful change is made for the health of our community.
What You'll Learn:
  • Connect with the team at HealthWatch Greenwich in our weekly meetings; learn how a charity focused on improving the health and wellbeing of local people operates.
  • Gain digital and research skills; understand what work goes into making a successful health campaign.

  • Learn to manage cross-channel communication and gain project and time management skills.

What We're Looking For:
  • Comfortable with using different social media including Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.
  • Able to work from home or remotely; this includes having access to internet and email.
  • Able to use your own initiative but comfortable in asking for help when needed.
