Help to make a difference to families with The Markfield Project
Markfield is small charitable organisation helping and supporting families with children and adults with disabilities. This is an opportunity to join a team, to gain skills and experience, and to give back to the community and help others.
After receiving training, volunteers are matched with a family to support them for 2 hours a week. Volunteers offer support to meet the needs of each family. This could include:
- Playing with disabled children or siblings at home.
- Helping families go out in the community.
- Spending time with parents.
- Supporting a teenager to explore and develop their interests and independence.
Support a music therapy session with In - Deep
Volunteers provide support with setting up, packing down, and by supporting children in the sessions through joining in the songs, games etc. This is a great opportunity to see the difference music makes to children with send as well as well have fun yourself.
Become a volunteer Coach with KEEN London
KEEN’s vision is that every child has the chance to enjoy games and leisure activities and none are left behind due to disability. During a typical KEEN London session, you’ll provide one-to-one support to an athlete, helping them to access all the activities on offer, achieve their personal development goals, and of course have tons of fun! You can expect to get involved with a wide range of playground games, ball games, nature walks, and creative activities. From time to time, there will also be trips - previous trips have included trampoline parks, high ropes courses, pedalo boating and slime-making classes. No prior experience needed - just lots of energy, enthusiasm and a willingness to learn!
