2InSpire is our charity's Youth Group and every Friday they meet between 5pm and 9pm to enjoy social and group activities.
As part of our offer, we provide a hot meal to 60 young people attending as local food poverty is significant.
We are looking for someone who can attend from 4pm with good cooking skills who can provide a menu from the ingrediants which are delivered by The Felix Project usually around 12 noon -2pm. We have no idea what will be delivered, so the cook will need to have a creative idea about what to prepare.
They will also need to be confident working on their own initiative and familiar with preparing food for different dietary and religious requirements (e.g. vegan, vegetarians, Halal, etc).
The cook will be supported by our Young Peoples Programe Manager who organises all our 2InSpire Club sessions.
Sessions are every Friday from 16.00 – 21.00 in the Crypt at St Peter’s, Liverpool Grove in South East London, in the Walworth area. (Liverpool Grove, London, SE17 2HH).
In 2022, InSpire won the King's Civic Challenge for Community Resilience which involved our Cafe area and as part of that programme, some of the Kings College London students visited on a number of occasions to help with the hot meals.
Our 2InSpire Friday Night Youth Club is a vibrant and busy social expereince with as many as 60 young people aged 11-18 attending.
You will enjoy contributing to a major part of their time here and assisting many of them to enjoy the experience with their friends and our youth workers.
This is an opportunity to demonstate creative cooking skills and adapt to the challenge of not knowing what the menu might be until a few hours before!
Someone with knowledge and understanding to create a menu at short notice preferably with a qualification in food safety and hygiene as well as competent cooking/catering skills.
