Bright Futures UK
Support children & young people back into education after taking time out due to their illness.
ABOUT US:

We offer support to young people of all educational ages who suffer from severe long-term illness, whether it be a mental health or physical health conditions. Programmes are available for individuals of ages 5-24 fighting both physical and mental health illnesses. At Bright Futures UK, we understand each young person is different. Different experiences, different situations, and different ways of dealing with things – why should there be one solution for all. Every young person has dreams, why should illness stand in their way!

WHY OUR WORK MATTERS:

Bright Futures UK was founded by Cancer survivors, and few know more about how similar illnesses can treat people so differently. The journey that our young people face whilst battling illness isn't easy. We're here to support them every step of the way, helping build their skills, confidence, and provide them with all the support they might need, from diagnosis all the way to recovery.

WHAT WE LOOK FOR IN OUR PEOPLE:

To engage in one of our programmes, you do not need prior experience working with children or young people.
We are looking for the following skills and qualities:
• empathy and understanding
• reliable and trustworthy
• friendly and approachable manner
• excellent communication and listening skills
• a desire to support vulnerable young people
• confidence
