Spring kitchen catering assistant

Our children and young people’s holiday and after school club keeps bellies full and minds inspired. All who join us participate in drama, dance, arts, crafts, sport with a healthy meal and fruit available for everyone and a free trip as well.

What You'll Do: 

The role as a Spring Kitchen Catering Assistant

-  Planning and preparation of healthy, cultural food for children and families during our Holiday Club sessions.

- Helping to distribute activity packs and packed lunches for children and families, and assisting the running of our afternoon kids' activity sessions.

- Serve meals to our guests in a presentable manner.

- To notify or report any safeguarding concerns to the Holiday Club Lead.

- Ensuring children and families have a balanced diet- eating healthy, freshly cooked meals.

- Introducing children and their families to new and nutritious food choices from various cultures.

- Maintain routine for the children to ensure a smooth transition from school term-time to holiday time.

 

What You'll Learn:

- ​​Understanding of food standards including food safety and hygiene.

- How to encourage children and their families to eat and prepare healthy well-cooked meals by introducing them to new and nutritious food choices.

- Helping families to understand the benefits of healthy food choices.

- Checking for food allergies and food intolerances before food is served.
