Children's Music Activity Volunteer

What You'll Do:

We need volunteers on Wednesday evenings from 6pm – 9pm.  Can you help?

Around 50 local children aged 7-14 come to Pembroke House (SE17 1QR) every Wednesday evening to learn how to play instruments at the Pembroke Academy of Music (PAM).

In these lively and fun sessions, children who would otherwise miss out can access high quality music tuition at heavily subsidised rates.

After months of virtual lessons, children have now returned in person to PAM.  But our wonderful music tutors can only run these sessions successfully with help from volunteers.

Volunteers don’t need music experience although an enjoyment of music and of working with children is useful.  We need people to help set up, take registers, support the tutors by helping to keep the children focused and then pack away afterwards.

PAM will take a break over the summer holidays but all volunteers need a DBS check which can take a few weeks to organise.  So we encourage applications as soon as possible to start this role in September.

Why You'll Love It:

If you love working with children, you'll love this opportunity.  Musical experience is a bonus but not required!

What You'll Learn:

You'll gain experience working with children.

What We're Looking For:

Friendly and enthusasic volunteers to support our wonderful music tutors
