Would you like to help a young person in your local community prosper? You’ve come to the right place! ReachOut are looking for volunteers to join us for 2 hours a week as a mentor to young people in need of a positive role model.
ReachOut is a national mentoring and education charity, working in under-resourced areas, we support young people who need a positive role model to grow in character and confidence, sparking change in themselves and society.
We run weekly after-school clubs for secondary and primary school students.
As a ReachOut mentor, you will make a real difference to young people in your local community, you will watch your mentee grow in confidence and gain skills which they can put to use in their life outside ReachOut. Our ReachOut clubs have a real sense of community, and you will be able to make friends with other mentors and form long–lasting bonds!
The high quality, intensive programmes we deliver go far beyond academic tutoring, as you will have the opportunity to play games and sports too. We combine 1.1 discussion activities, games, goal setting and more!
As a mentor you will be paired with a young person, who you will work with each week individually. Furthermore, you will also take part in group activities that promote leadership, trust, and responsibility.
At ReachOut, we run 3 different projects throughout the academic year. All our projects start during the Autumn, each running for different lengths of time and you can pick the type of project that best suits you!
· ReachOut Club runs in primary schools for 18 weeks between 3.30 and 5.30pm.
· ReachOut Academy.
· ReachOut+ runs in secondary schools for 26 weeks between 6.00 and 8.00pm. We run sessions from Monday to Thursday across a range of locations within London and offer online projects, so there is something for everyone!

Access to: ReachOut Futures
As a student, you'll also have access to our ReachOut Futures programme where we connect volunteer mentors with our corporate partners. You'll have the opportunity to work with your own career mentor as well as take part in career-building workshops and even have the opportunity to access exclusive work placements and internships. If you successfully complete our volunteer onboarding journey and mentor a young person on one of our projects, you will automatically gain access to the ReachOut Futures programme.

We think that everyone can get something out of volunteering with us, if you are keen to work with young people in your career it's a great way to gain hands-on classroom experience in a supportive environment. But you can also gain and develop skills which you can transfer into your studies or future work environments!
You don't need any experience to volunteer for ReachOut! We're just looking for enthusiastic, committed people who want to get involved and be positive role models to young people!
We provide comprehensive training to ensure you are fully prepared and know what to expect. We will also help you apply for a DBS certificate and allow you to ask any questions you may have. You will be supported by the ReachOut team at every step of your volunteering journey!
