Female Into School Teaching Support Volunteer for the Youth Service

Your role is to support our teachers in creating a positive and engaging learning environment for the girls in the Into School Programme, which is designed for newly arrived migrant girls aged 11-19 who are out of education.

What You'll Do: 
  • Collaborate with teachers in ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) and Maths.
  • Assist with lesson plans and activities, ensuring a smooth flow of the classes.
  • Provide individual support to students as needed, helping them overcome challenges and participate actively.
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all girls feel comfortable learning.
What We're Looking For: 
  • Good academic background with GSCE or degree-level education, particularly in Maths and English to provide competent academic support.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students from diverse backgrounds and languages.
  • Patience and understanding to support students with varying learning paces and needs.
  • Enthusiasm for creating a fun and engaging learning environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
