We are looking for volunteers to support our search for new funding opportunities. The aim is to diversify our current funding stream to help us improve and expand on the level of services that we provide to our members. Join us to achieve that goal.
The role will involve:
- Researching and comparing different funding opportunities and deciding on which ones to pursue.
- Completing and submitting fundraising applications with support from the team.
- Monitor the use of grants and ensure that their impact is regularly reported back to donors.
- Help us develop a marketing strategy to better attract and retain new donors.
- Developing a comprehensive knowledge of the SGTO’s diverse work – enabling you to pursue funding opportunities knowing what you will write about.
- We are open to applicants from all backgrounds and degrees.
The Southwark Group of Tenants Organisation (SGTO) is the independent voice of council housing tenants in the London Borough of Southwark. We have a proud history stretching back to the 1950s, campaigning on issues affecting tenants but also offering them practical advice and support. If you volunteer with us, you will be joining a team of dedicated staff, who work hard to serve the community we are based in.
- You will receive an induction to your role and volunteering at the SGTO generally.
- We are constantly looking out for external training opportunities, so please let us know if there are any training programmes you think we should apply to.
- Write bids and submit funding application - Get to meet different donors and their interest.
- Form professional relationships with team members, and external agencies.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Previous experience in a research or marketing role.
- IT Skills – including the ability to use Microsoft Office.
- Some experience of fundraising and/or submitting funding applications is desirable but not essential.
