Community Event Helper

Team Up is looking for a friendly, communicative, and reliable individual looking to develop their event management and hospitality skills and a passion for tackling educational disadvantage.

What You'll Do: 

As an event volunteer you will be representing Team Up at one or more volunteer recruitment events that are held across London throughout the year. These may be events which have been organised by Team Up or they may be events that have been organised by Volunteer departments within Universities or Local Councils. You will be expected to interact with the public and supporters at our events and support with set-up/clearing.

 

Responsibilities

  • To take marketing materials to an event and help set up/clear the event; erecting tables, arranging decorations and marketing materials, work stations, etc.
  • To meet and greet potential volunteers/visitors/supporters, thank them for their support, give relevant information about our mission/opportunities and answer any queries they may have.
  • To provide a friendly and welcoming atmosphere to all event staff, visitors, and potential volunteers.
  • To maintain contact and provide important feedback to the event leads and/or the event managers at the location.
  • Any other reasonable requests from line managers.

  • Flexibility to attend a variety of events. 
  • Strong team player with a willingness to work with staff and volunteers of all ages and abilities.
  • Friendly and helpful manner towards event staff and attendees.
  • Able and willing to stand for extended periods of time
  • Able and willing to travel to event locations across Greater London

 

Desirable

  • Knowledge of educational disadvantage and work of Team Up
  • Experience working with a range of people of all ages and abilities.
