Tuesday 26th September, 14.00 - 17.00: Prep, sort and refurbish old devices – ready for a new home!
Do you have some time to give a helping hand? Community TechAid, a grassroots charity on a mission to enable sustainable access to technology, are looking for people to provide hands on support at their office on Tuesday 26th September, 14.00-17.00
Help the team to prepare, sort and refurbish donated devices, so that they are ready to be sent to someone in need of a device.
The team have recently received over 800 laptops that require a a new drive, you'll be taught how to safely open up the back of a laptop, install a new NVME drive and install windows on the device.
No prior experience needed, just a willingness to get stuck in. Staff will be on hand to provide training and guidance.
This one-off event is a great opportunity to support a grassroots charity in their mission to addressing the digital divide and protecting the environment. Join this event to meet new people at King's College London, as well as hear more about Community TechAid and how you can volunteer your time with them in the future!
Staff will be on hand to provide training and guidance. You'll be taught how to:
- log devices onto our databases
- check devices to ensure that it works as it should do
- wipe data from devices
- updating devices with necessary applications and installing operating system
No prior experience needed, just a willingness to get stuck in!

Kitchen Support Volunteers will help either chef with all aspects of food preparation, washing up and helping to maintain the kitchen as a hygienic and safe food preparation area. You may be serving hot food to clients.
