Become a part of our welcoming reception team where you will greet visitors, answer enquiries and respond to calls.

What You'll Do: 
  • Greeting those visiting Montague Chambers offices – both staff and visitors. 
    • Signing visitors in/out to comply with health and safety/confidentiality. 
  • Keeping the lobby area neat and tidy, with nothing obstructing the walkways/exits. 
  • Answering/fielding telephone enquiries and passing on messages to the relevant staff members. 
    • Enquiries may include (but are not limited to):  
      • details about the daily services 
      • special services or events 
      • booking tours/conference spaces 
      • more operational enquiries concerning access 
      • café/shop opening hours, and more 
  • Receiving and distributing incoming post and taking the post to the post office at the end of the afternoon shift. 
  • Recording parcels and notifying staff members. 
  • Monitoring the CCTV camera feeds and alerting the Vergers/other staff members as appropriate of anything suspicious.

What We're Looking For: 
  • Someone who can regularly cover Friday afternoon 1pm to 4.30pm
  • Reception and/or customer experience is desirable.  
  • Friendly, reliable and enthusiastic people who enjoy speaking to people from all backgrounds. 
  • Excellent communication skills. 
  • Ability to remain calm under stressful situations. 
  • Knowledge of other languages is desirable but not essential. 
  • Interest in the Cathedral and its history  
  • Ability to demonstrate sympathy with the aims and mission of the Cathedral
