Outreach Community Partnership Volunteer

As Volunteer Outreach Community Officer that can explore related topical and theory studies, research at a time as we expand our regional team and the scope of our regional work to more effectively reach out to, engage and support people and families

What You'll Do:

We're working to build and grow a relationship with our service users to support people helping them to inspire the people we care for with mental health, giving support and guidance to bring the best outcome to meet their needs.

The Volunteer Outreach and Partnerships Officer will develop a network of existing services in Lambeth & Southwark and Lewisham, familiarising with the services available to recommend or refer. To develop and support the project with this area of outreach work, engage with key external relationships to reach and support a broad and diverse community of people.

Why You'll Love It:

GROAD operates in Lewisham, Southwark, and Lambeth helping people in families, refugees & asylum seekers, homeless. We care and want to help people that come through our doors more than just giving donations.

According to The Greater London Authority, in Lambeth alone there were 143 rough sleepers in December of 2020, 57 of whom were not born in the UK. Additionally, many migrants are unable to access public funding, such as Universal Credit or Jobseeker’s Allowance, meaning that many migrants who are unemployed due to COVID-19 are at a higher risk of losing their homes or being unable to feed themselves and their families as the living crisis impact peoples wellbeing and mental health .

What You'll Learn:

By supporting Get Rid of and Donate, you will support assist with living standards and for people and families at a time when the living crisis continues to escalate and people are concerned about how they can cope and manage their financial affairs on low incomes, benefits, and also people without any sort of revenue. Working within a team of dedicated volunteers who care for the needs and to make a change in our communities.

With the support of volunteers, we can look to make a social change, envision the project will help and improve the economic burden and living crisis by providing essential living items, elevating pressure on financing for food, and clothes, heating their homes, and survival of living on the streets. By contributing time, donations, and awareness of the environmental impact.

GROAD support can help with the relief of mental health and anxiety which also includes the prevention of poverty, criminality domestic abuse, and suicide across the backgrounds of people the project supports and engage with. By diverting perfectly serviceable items from our city’s landfills, we can help chip away at this large issue and contribute to a sustainable future, while helping members of our community who are in need. Your support project will be able to improve people’s lives and make a contribution, being a support network for times of need, to assist in the demand sourcing and reaching out.

What We're Looking For:

As Volunteer Outreach and Partnerships Officer, you will be working closely with our Operational Manager to support the development and delivery of the project plan. You will explore and develop partnerships with local communities and identify operational opportunities that will enable us to reach more people and drive forward positive change.

You will be an excellent communicator be passionate about working with people and willing to make connections with local groups and communities to develop and grow.
