Why You'll Love It:

GROAD operates in Lewisham, Southwark, and Lambeth helping people in families, refugees & asylum seekers, the homeless, and the ongoing Ukraine appeal. The pandemic and the living crisis have had a demand for help with basic essential items, community donations have been able to provide resources and facilitate the need for many people and families that are registered to receive support. The collection of good, usable, and working items with more life has become invaluable to people who are on low income or unable to afford, most of all reducing waste to landfill sites.

GROAD aims to alleviate waste and help London achieve its goal of becoming a zero-waste city. According to the Mayor’s office London Environment Strategy, 7 million tonnes of household waste is produced from private residences, businesses, and public spaces. By diverting perfectly serviceable items from our city’s landfills, we can help chip away at this large issue and contribute to a sustainable future
