After-school Club Volunteer

After-school Club Volunteer

We are a charity that harnesses the transformative power of play and exercise to help vulnerable children recover from complex trauma.

What You'll Do:

You will be working with vulnerable children in West London (aged 5-11) with a history of various difficulties, including mental health, special education needs, history of abuse, etc. More than 90% of our children are referred to by social services and live in very difficult environments.

Your role will inlcude

  • Supporting children at Solidarity Sports projects during after-school clubs.
This may include running through playgrounds with our children, doing arts and crafts, bowling, and many more fun activities.
  • Building a positive, trusting relationship with our children, and making them feel special and valued at all times during our projects.

All volunteers will be DBS checked before volunteering - we will help you obtain one for free.

During the school term we have two after-school clubs running every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday 3:30-5:30pm.

  • 'Thrive' - based at St Clements and St James Primary School (Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays) 3:30pm - 5:30pm
  • Solidarity Sports After-school club at Solidarity Sports base - 253 North End Road (Thursdays Only) 3:30pm - 5:30pm
Why You'll Love It:

Our children are very affectionate and energetic, you will have a lot of fun doing a variety of activities together, while getting hands-on experience working with children who have experienced complex trauma.

What You'll Learn:
  • All introductory training is provided by the Solidarity Sports team before the project, other training opportunities may also come up along the way to build CV and experience.
  • We have afterschool clubs regularly during the school term, as well as holiday projects during school holidays. If you continue volunteering with us you will have opportunities to undertake further training such as in child safeguarding.
What We're Looking For:

We need enthusiastic volunteers who are ready to dedicate their energy and affection!
