Enter & View-Healthwatch Waltham Forest
As an Enter & View volunteer, you will collect evidence of what works well and what could be improved in health and social services to improve people’s experiences. Healthwatch can use this evidence to make recommendations and inform changes.
What You'll Do:
What is enter and view?
- Enter & View is a statutory power conferred upon Healthwatch by the Health and Social Care Act 2012. It allows our Representatives to enter and view any publicly funded health and social care services in the borough.
- The purpose of an Enter and View visit is to collect evidence of what works well and what could be improved to make people’s experiences better. Healthwatch can use this evidence to make recommendations and inform changes both for individual services as well as system-wide, such as: NHS Trusts-NHS Foundation Trusts, Local Authorities, GPs, dentists and opticians.

As a Enter & View Authorized representative you will:
- Observe how people experience the service through watching and listening.
- Speak to people using the service, their carers and relatives to find out more about their experiences and views.
- Observe the nature and quality of services.
- Report their findings to providers, regulators, the local authority, and NHS commissioners and quality assurers, the public, Healthwatch England and any other relevant partners based on what was found during the visit.
Please note:
- An Enter & View Authorised representative is a very specific and skilled volunteer role which requires training and a time commitment over the course of 12 months (flexible).
- Our Enter & View representatives are fully DBS checked and required to complete essential training.

- We believe that everyone is unique and has something valuable to contribute, from sharing life experiences, skills, and knowledge, to the willingness to make a real difference in society.
- You do not need any qualifications to volunteer with us. Prior life or work experience from within a health and social setting would be beneficial but not essential!
- Before starting the role you will go through an essential training and DBS checks.
