In Deep Drama Sessions for Children and young People with SEND

We are a registered charity that works with isolated older people and children and young people with SEND. We are running drama sessions in age appropriate groups. The sessions are run by qualified drama teachers. Volunteers support the children.

What You'll Do:

Volunteers are required every second and fourth Tuesday of the month from 5.00p.m - 7.00p.m to help set up, take part in the sessions with games, practice plays, warm ups. Volunteers are placed in age appropiate groups and support the children in the sessions. We will be doing an annual performance with volunteers helping in the lead up to this. Sessions are tailored to the childrens needs.

Why You'll Love It:

Many people in society look at people with SEND and only look at the differences and the negatives. However many children and young people with SEND are brilliant actors and singers. With so many children and young people struggling with self esteem and mental health problems drama is a brilliant way to build up people's confidence, speech and social skills. You will see children grow and develop and have a lot of fun in the process.

What You'll Learn:

That children and young people no matter what their disability have gifts which deserve to be recognised. How talented and funny many children and young people with SEND are and the difference the arts can make to their lives.

What We're Looking For:

We are looking for caring, committed people with an interest in this area. Experience with SEND is not essential as we provide training. We do require an enhanced DBS check but can provide help if you do not have one.
