Adoption UK
Our vision is a society where every child or young person unable to live with their birth parents can thrive in childhood and has an equal chance of a bright future as an adult.  Our purpose is to secure the right support at the right time for children and young people who are unable to live with their birth parents, from childhood into adulthood.
ABOUT US:

Adoption UK is a national charity for adoptive families, and others parenting children who can’t live with their birth families such as kinship carers. We offer a variety of services, including local support groups, specialised training, and advocacy, to assist adoptive parents and adopted individuals in navigating the adoption journey and addressing the challenges. Additionally, we work to influence policies and practices, striving to improve the adoption system and outcomes for families nationwide.

WHY OUR WORK MATTERS:

The work of Adoption UK is crucial because it supports adoptive families and ensures that children in care are given the best possible chance for a stable, loving and supportive environment. There is a commin misconcpetion that once a child is adopted then everything is great, but that is far from the truth. Adoption can be an incredibly challenge journey, both for the children and the parents, especially when it comes to navigating complex emotional and psychological resources. Adoption UK provides vital resources, training and a network of support for families to help manage these challenges.

Our work matters because it directly impacts the wellbeing and future of vulnerable children and helps create a more informed and supportive environment for adoptive families.
