Success Club
Our mission is to empower children and young people who are at risk of under-achieving to fulfil their potential.
ABOUT US:

At Success Club we are a charity focused on wellbeing amongst children and young people. With mindfulness at the heart of our work, we aim to equip young people to develop a better relationship with themselves.

Our vision is to create a future where every at-risk youth thrives, enabling a society filled with successful children and young people. Our aim is: ‘no child left behind’.

We work alongside a number of schools in the Enfield, Edmonton and Islington areas, supporting them to meet the needs of their children and young people through our different programmes. We aim to help them rise up above their negative behaviour patterns and environments, through a series of reflective learning, confidence building and positive behaviour led programmes that have mindfulness at their heart; these are delivered directly into schools, online or through effective partnerships.

WHY OUR WORK MATTERS:

We are a small but growing local charity which supports young people who are at risk of academic and social under-achievement through our well-being and personal development frameworks. We make a very real difference in the lives of the young people we work with, setting them up for their present and future success.

James Wheeler, Dep Head Suffolks

"The work that Success Club does to support children from disadvantaged backgrounds, for many children, is life changing.  The team at Success Club are role models for the pupils that they have supported at our school.  The whole culture of Success Club and how this is fed into every project they run, is inspiring – for both children and the adults they work with….  Many schools are struggling to support the massive increase in children who are struggling with their mental health and Success Club have the skills, expertise and the passion to support schools and young people during these very difficult times."

Y8 student:

I feel a lot more confident in myself and have learnt new ways to manage anxiety. This also helps me feel less overwhelmed and a lot calmer.

THINGS WE ARE PROUD OF:
At Success Club, we take immense pride in our accomplishments and milestones, which reflect the dedication of our team, volunteers and community partnerships. First and foremost, we are proud of the young people whom we work with. We are proud of every step they take towards being better in the next second than they were in the last. We are proud of getting the opportunity to be a part of their journey.
Here are some other key highlights we are proud of:
DIVERSE PROGRAMME OFFERINGS: We deliver a diverse range of programmes in sports, mindfulness, education re-engagement, mentoring and holiday activities, targeting disadvantaged young people across Enfield and beyond. Our innovative approaches, such as integrating mentoring into physical activity sessions, provide holistic support addressing both physical and emotional well-being, ensuring participants gain the tools and confidence to thrive.
ENHANCED PROGRAMME IMPACT: In 2024 we have delivered wellbeing, behavior management and sports programmes reaching around 3,000 young people . We have successfully supported 26 different schools with programmes like Thinking Into Results, Fit4Growth (sports and mentoring), Mindful Mentors, Outdoor Mindfulness, and A Moment of Calm. We have seen this resulting in improved engagement and behaviour in school and reduced school exclusions.
EMPOWERING VOLUNTEERS: We have recruited 13 great new volunteers in 2024, who between them have contributed a total of 456 hours across 18 programs. Our volunteers have supported 134 sessions, enhancing staff capabilities and providing personalized attention to children. We are proud to have developed a diverse volunteer base who bring their own lived experiences as well as unique skills like gardening, debating and dance, aligning with the communities we serve.
CHARITY GROWTH: In 2024 we have been able to multiply the numbers of programmes running and school partners, leading to a greater impact on a greater number of young people. Our team of volunteers has freed staff to focus on work necessary to match this growth.
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT: We have continued to secure grants to be able to run impactful programmes in schools that lack the resources to cover programme costs. Enfield Schools Collective received feedback from the schools working with them that our Moment of Calm programme was the most successful programme run last year - we look forward to expanding this programme in the year ahead.
CORPORATE ENGAGEMENT: We have fostered partnerships with a number of organizations to explore corporate volunteer opportunities.
FUTURE VISION: We have set ambitious goals for growing our volunteer base, expanding programme reach and achieving greater earned income. We are committed to continuous improvement, streamlining recruitment and tailoring volunteer roles for better alignment with organizational goals.
These accomplishments exemplify our dedication to creating meaningful and lasting impact within our community.
WHAT WE LOOK FOR IN OUR PEOPLE:

We look for the same things in our volunteers as we do for staff because we aim to be the best we can at all times. We are passionate about making a difference to each young person we work with and to help them discover their best. Therefore, the following qualities are essential across our various volunteer roles:

  1. PASSION AND ENTHUSIASM: A genuine desire to work with children and young people, along with a positive attitude and high energy.
  2. COMPASSION AND KINDNESS: Empathy and care towards others, creating a supportive and nurturing environment.
  3. RELIABILITY AND COMMITMENT: Consistency and a strong sense of responsibility in fulfilling tasks and duties.
