Kith & Kids supports families who have a son or daughter with autism or a learning disability (many also have a physical or sensory disability) to overcome their social isolation.
We provide a variety of volunteer-supported projects and services, offering opportunities to learn new skills, make friends, go out and have fun.
We offer quality training to hundreds of volunteers throughout the year who support our projects and provide a vital link between our participants and the wider community.
Our Family Support Service helps parents and siblings by introducing them to other parents and siblings as well as providing individual information and support.
Our Outreach Service provides information, support and training to families, carers and organisations.
Our work at Kith & Kids is crucial because it addresses the significant challenges faced by families with children who have autism or learning disabilities, many of whom also have physical or sensory disabilities. Social isolation can have a profound impact on mental health and well-being. By providing a supportive network and opportunities for meaningful engagement, we help break down the barriers of isolation, fostering a sense of belonging and community.
Through our volunteer-supported programs, we offer essential life skills training, social opportunities, and enjoyable activities that enrich the lives of our participants. Our dedication to training hundreds of volunteers each year ensures that they are well-equipped to bridge the gap between individuals with disabilities and the wider community, promoting greater social integration and awareness.
Additionally, our Family Support Service and Outreach Service play a vital role in providing tailored support and information to families, carers, and organizations. By connecting parents and siblings with others in similar situations, we build a supportive community that shares experiences, resources, and encouragement. Our outreach efforts extend our impact by offering training and support that helps create more inclusive environments in various settings.
Our commitment to this work not only enhances the lives of individuals with disabilities and their families but also contributes to a more inclusive and compassionate society where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
