Our Mission: “To Support and Engage with Kindness”. We pride ourselves in supporting all those who come to Moorfields and to ensure they have a positive experience.
ABOUT US:
The Friends of Moorfields is a thriving and active member led charity which has been supporting patients and staff at Moorfields Eye Hospital for 60 years. Our volunteers are integral in supporting patients through various means including leading & guiding them around the clinic, hand-holding during surgery and providing emotional comfort and guidance.
WHY OUR WORK MATTERS:
For patients coming to terms with visual impairment/sight-loss it can be an extremely distressing experience and difficult to come to terms with. While our volunteers cannot necessairly change the outcomes for our patients, just being available to support our patients while they visit can make their experience significantly better.
