Doctors of the World is an independent humanitarian movement working at home and abroad to empower excluded people to access healthcare.
Through 350 programmes in 80 countries run by more than 3,000 volunteers we provide medical care, strengthen health systems and address underlying barriers to healthcare.
We share skills and training locally so communities stay strong in the long term.
We also strive to give a voice to the most marginalised, reporting on violence, injustice and unmet health needs wherever we find them.
Our vision is a world without barriers to health, where healthcare is recognised as a fundamental right.
Many people living in the UK find it impossible to access mainstream health services – despite being fully entitled to them – due to fear, not knowing the system, having no fixed address, having to pay charges or being wrongly turned away by frontline healthcare staff.
Our services include our clinic, adviceline and outreach work offering primary care and health and social advice from volunteer support workers, doctors and nurses for excluded people such as asylum seekers, undocumented migrants, homeless people, and sex workers.
In 2022, we supported over 2,000 people. Over 90% of those we help are successfully supported to register with a GP.
We also signpost our patients to other services, including housing advice, destitution support and specialist counselling

Our Opportunities
In this role, you will support people to access healthcare and overcome barriers, providing much-needed practical support. Your time will be split working in our Stratford (East London) Clinic and on our remote Advice Line and Casework.

Clinic Support Workers work in our Stratford clinic, they support people to access healthcare services and act as advocates. They liaise with NHS service providers to link the service users to the care they need. Comitment: 2shifts per month-6months
