Providence Row
Our mission We have a vision of East London as a thriving, vibrant area which is a welcoming, friendly and multicultural place for people to visit and live in. When people do become homeless we will be a place they can go to for safety, help and support to address what has gone wrong. We will work with people, whatever their background, to help them to an independent and fulfilled life away from homelessness and exclusion, in which they are contributing members of the community. This means that we will address not only their immediate needs, but also the underlying issues and causes of their homelessness and exclusion.
ABOUT US:

We work in East London, once of the most deprived areas of the UK. We support people in times of crisis, providing a safe space, food, warmth and access to advice & support.

We also work with people to build skills and confidence.  Through our employment & progression schemes and our mental and physical health services we provide the tools that enable people to create healthy, independent lives.

WHY OUR WORK MATTERS:

We tackle the root causes of homelessness to help people get off, and stay off, the streets.

OUR VALUES:
Compassion: Taking the time to understand difficulties without judgement and with a view to helping people to overcome them.
Respect: Exercising the same degree of consideration and care for everyone who comes to Providence Row, whatever the reason.
Inclusiveness: Welcoming and seeking to involve everybody, whatever their background, needs, problems, ethnicity, nationality or faith.
Empowerment: Working with people, not for people, to enable them to realise their gifts, abilities and talents.
Justice: Acting fairly and promoting justice within the organisation and in relation to the needs and rights of people who use our services.
OUR AWARDS:
Social Enterprise of the Year - Homeless Link In July 2018 Rise Bakery (part of Providence Row) was named Social Enterprise of the Year by Homeless Link at their inaugral Excellence in Homelessness Awards.
In June 2017 Providence Row's partnership with Berkeley Homes (North East London) Ltd was a winner at the Corporate Engagement Awards 2017 for Best Charity, NGO or NFP programme.
In January 2017 Providence Row successfully passed the Advice Quality Standard (AQS), a nationally recognised quality mark for organisations providing free, independent advice to members of the public. The award was granted to the charity’s Advice and Support team, which gives practical advice around housing, money and health to people affected by, or at risk of homelessness, in Tower Hamlets and The City of London.
THINGS WE ARE PROUD OF:
Last year more than 1,200 people used our services
WHAT WE LOOK FOR IN OUR PEOPLE:

Our team and culture are built around our core values of compassion, respect, inclusiveness, empowerment & justice. We know that our people are our greatest asset and we are committed to supporting and developing our staff and volunteers

HOW WE ARE DIFFERENT:

We are a small, developing organisation working with people experiencing homelessness in the East End of London. We specialise in providing advice & support for rough sleepers, working to tackle health inequality & substance misuse and providing psychological support.

We take an innovative approach to the work that we do and the services that we run, driving forward best practice to ensure the best possible outcomes for the people that we work with.
