Food Bank Administration Volunteer

Expectations
To attend regular meetings taking place every other Friday for volunteers to receive information, advice, training and peer support. We are looking for volunteers who can commit 1 day per week (or equivalent thereof) on an ongoing basis

What You'll Do: 

The role as a Food Bank Administration Volunteer

-  Enter all required information from the referral sheet and warehouse stock forms onto the  data spreadsheet on a weekly basis.

-  Securely session information sheets in a locked filing cabinet.

-  Adhere to all Data Protection Act requirements.

-  Processes incoming and outgoing mail.

-  Take notes at team meetings and circulate information as required.

-  Organize the collation and distribution of information such as flyers, posters etc as required.

-  Follow all policies and procedures including safeguarding policy and health and safety policy.

-  Carry out tasks under the guidance of the Manager. 

-   Report any health & safety or safeguarding concerns to the Manager. 

-   Demonstrate a professional and positive attitude in all Spring  related activities.

 

What You'll Learn:

- ​​Recognise the processes of GDPR and data protection requirements in the practices of Spring Community Hub.

- Ability to work and communicate as a team member and report to the Food Bank Coordinator.

- Learning the technical skills of our data systems and how to keep information organized.

- Experience of customer service or dealing with a diverse range of people.

-   Good listening skills.

-   An ability to communicate well and with confidence when handling enquiries.

-   Awareness of the Welfare System and circumstances that may bring people to our service.

-   A non-judgemental attitude towards people’s problems and challenges faced in their lives.

-   A warm and friendly approach.
