Learning Management System Course Builder

What You'll Do:

LOVO is a not- for-profit organisation based in South London. We work with women to develop skills in personal care and development, employability, and creativity, running a childcare service, a women’s day-centre and a mentoring and advice
service within the community.

LOVO also provides practical and educational learning  for women in specific areas such as childcare and personal development. We are in an exciting phase of refining our learning offer, to developaccredited courses to be delivered both in-person and online on an LMS (Learning Management System).

We are looking for a volunteer to help us in the initial phases of this work. Your role and responsibilities will include:

  • Work with the Director and LOVO staff to understand the needs, outcomes and impact of the courses. This would potentially include developing an understanding of face to face and hybrid learning and mentor needs.
  • Designing and shaping course content (most of which has been developed and run in-person already) in a way which is suitable for online learning. This might include the designing of additional learning materials (see below).
  • Supporting the CPD accreditation process and ensuring materials and course development is aligned with certification requirements.
  • Setting up the courses on an LMS, this includes the embedding of materials (quizzes, worksheets etc) for the LMS and set up of tech back-end if possible.
  • Testing the courses to see that they all work and working with the Director and/or Training Coordinator to make sure there is a clear system for management and monitoring.
  • Potential position ongoing management and upkeep of the online courses LMS as needed, if there is capacity or availability.

We greatly value our volunteers’ contributions to our work. We are committed to making your time volunteering with us fruitful by ensuring that you are engaged in activities you find interesting, and by providing you with access to relevant mentorship and training. There might be particular areas of work that are of specific interest to you, and we encourage you to share these with us so we can tailor your responsibilities to accommodate these interests!

By volunteering in this role with LOVO you can:

    • Develop valuable and relevant skills
    • Gain experience of working in a reputed community-based organisation
    • Meet people from a wide range of backgrounds
    • Access personal and vocational training courses as well as personalised mentorship sessions
    • Obtain references for future employment or education
    • Lunch and reimbursement for travel expenses can be provided
    What We're Looking For:

    Essential skills include:

    • Computer literate, able to use a range of software and technologies and quick to learn
    • Design skills and creativity
    • Interest in education, adult learning and development of educational resources
    • Ability to work adaptively and creatively in a small team
    • Experience using design software
    • Experience using LMS (Learning Management System) either as user or creator
