Volunteer play worker and/or management committee member

We are always looking for volunteers, whether you are interested in helping on site with our after school provision for local young people; or becoming a member of our management committee that meets bi-monthly.

What You'll Do:
  • The Playground is a space where we offer free play for young people to choose what they wish to do - we provide an extensive range of activities to cover the wide range of interests of our children.
  • As a playworker you will be involved in assisting senior staff deliver play provision for our cohort of young people (aged 6-16). You will enjoy being outdoors in all weathers.
  • As a committee member, you will partake in bi-monthly committee meetings either on-site at the playground or via zoom. We have our Annual General Meeting in September .Additional meetings may be scheduled on occasion and will likely take place online.
  • In our managment committee meetings we deal with day-to-day management of staff, resources, and planning on how to improve the service to the community.
  • Some of the tasks will involve identifying ways in which we can improve the play structures and what activities can be organised for the children that use the playground space. Here is a list of some the existing activities the team deliver: https://triangleadventureplayground.com/play-time-1
Why You'll Love It:
  • You will be contributing to the smooth running of London's oldest adventure playground, which is a vital resource in our local community. In doing so you will be helping numerous young people and families that rely on us throughout the year.
  • There is the opportunity to partake in other tasks if you so wish - for example helping with food pickup from local supermarkets as part of the fare share scheme.
  • We are open to new ideas and want to hear about any suggestion you have about the space.
What You'll Learn:
  • You will gain insight into how the charity is run and meet new people.
  • As a playworker you will be assisting senior members of the team. You will learn team-work, become adept at interacting with our diverse young people (aged 6-16) on our busy adventure playground.
  • You will develop community organising, and team working skills.
  • You will gain experience of charity management and of event organizing if you wish to become a managment committee member.
What We're Looking For:
  • We are looking for anyone with a can-do attitude.
  • We are looking for people with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • We want to increase our diversity as a management committee as we feel this attains diversity in both skill sets and ideas on how to best nurture and develop Triangle Adventure Playground. We are currently interested in volunteers with Human resources and/or secretarial experience with an interest in management.
  • We are looking for someone willing to volunteer on occasion, for fundraising days or events at the adventure playground.
