British Sign Language Interpreting Volunteer

What You'll Do: 

Off the Curriculum (OTC), an educational charity, is looking for British Sign Language (BSL) Interpreting Volunteers, to interpret educational videos in English into British Sign Language. ‘Educo’ is OTC’s own educational platform, created to improve the participants’ experience and aid them in exploring various topics over the course of 2 years. The subjects range from Science, Business, Arts to History or Commerce. The BSL interpreters will therefore be asked to translate a wide variety of video content into BSL to help hearing-impaired.

  • To support the Video Production Team to finalise the videos including the interpreting in BSL

The volunteers will develop their interpreting skills whilst learning about a various array of topics. They will also be part of an organisation that aims to build a supportive and actualised community.

Every week we provide a lunch for isolated older people in Victoria. We provide jacket potato with various fillings and a hot meal in winter. the lunch is run by volunteers. We require volunteers on a Wednesday from 11.00 - 2.30.
