We are looking for new volunteers to join our team at The Markfield Project to make a huge difference to the families we support.
Markfield is small charity organisation helping and supporting families with children and adults with disability. This is an opportunity to join a team, to gain skills and experience, and to give back to the community and help others.
Volunteers with Markfield receive training, supervision, support, certificates from attending free training, and the opportunity to join trips and events. After receiving training, volunteers are matched with a family to support them for 2hrs a week. Volunteers offer support to meet the needs of each family. This could include:
- Playing with disabled children or siblings at home.
- Helping families go out in the community.
- Spending time with parents.
- Supporting a teenager to explore and develop their interests and independence.
Markfield is a very friendly, happy space to volunteer. We are looking to make a difference to family life, the families we support are so grateful to us and our volunteers. Volunteers can be part of this project and make the difference which can be very rewarding.
You will learn how to support people with disabilities and you'll recieve training, a greater awareness of disabilities, and an opportunity to develop new skills.
We are looking for a volunteers who are reliable, good listeners and are able to work as a team.
