House experience volunteers

What You'll Do:

Sutton House are looking to expand the volunteer team that help us to share and care for the oldest house in Hackney.
Be the face of Sutton House as a welcoming presence in Visitor Reception or challenge yourself by learning to deliver a 1 hour guided tour of Hackney’s oldest home.

Why You'll Love It:

You will spend time in a fascinating house that is packed with history and share what makes it special to everyone. You’d also be joining Europe’s largest conservation charity and the wider National Trust team proudly looking after 780 miles of coastline, over 250,000 hectares of land, over 500 historic houses, castles, ancient monuments, gardens, parks and nature reserves (including lighthouses, villages, pubs and a gold mine!). We are a unique charity welcoming millions of people each year and with a vision to open up places for the benefit of everyone, for ever.

What You'll Learn:

You will get involved in supporting temporary exhibitions and permanent collections, researching, hosting, leading tours or leading talks, but most importantly learn how to share our unique stories to wide range of audiences.

What We're Looking For:

We are especially looking for people who:

· Love meeting new people.

· Are warm and friendly.

· Love conversations - asking questions is just as important as answering them.

· Are eager to learn - history and gardening knowledge not essential.

· Are flexible.
