Youth Casework Support

What You'll Do:

We are looking for committed volunteers to support young people with a variety of different problems.  This could be for example looking for and enrolling on educational courses, finding paid work, finding leisure activities, resolving housing problems, obtaining medical help, or liaising with solicitors or other professionals. It also might involve accompanying the young person to attend important appointments and interviews and access positive activities.

What You'll Learn:

All new volunteers will receive induction training. Volunteers are offered regular appraisals which identify their training and development needs.  In-house and external training is provided as appropriate. This will not be extensive, but will provide a grounding required for the role. However, we aim to constantly develop our volunteers by providing them with new, interesting and challenging work.

What We're Looking For:

Volunteers must have excellent listening and written/verbal communication skills. They must be reliable, motivated, resourceful, friendly, and committed to the wellbeing of refugee and asylum-seeking young people.
