King’s Climate & Sustainability (KCS) is seeking passionate student representatives to join our "No Time to Waste" waste and circularity campaign. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the student voice is heard and listened to!
- Organise and lead town halls/assemblies: With support from KCS staff, you will coordinate and facilitate town halls or assemblies to gather student thoughts and opinions on waste management, circular economics, single-use plastics, and resource usage.
- Consult the community: Engage with the student community to understand their perspectives and concerns regarding waste and recycling.
- Feedback into Campaigns: Provide valuable insights and feedback to the main behaviour change campaign, helping to shape our initiatives based on student input.
- Volunteering Hours: Log your work as volunteering hours and receive recognition through King's Volunteering.
- Active Network: Join an active network of students through our Climate Action Network, collaborating with like-minded individuals passionate about sustainability.
- Skill Development: Gain skills in event coordination, community organising, and public speaking. Training opportunities will be provided to enhance your capabilities.
- Event coordination: Learn how to plan, organise, and execute town halls and assemblies, including managing logistics and ensuring smooth operations.
- Community organising: Gain experience in mobilising and engaging the student community, fostering collaboration and participation.
- Public speaking: Improve your ability to communicate effectively in front of groups, presenting ideas and facilitating discussions.
- Leadership: Develop leadership skills by taking charge of events and guiding discussions, helping to shape the direction of sustainability initiatives.
- Research and analysis: Enhance your ability to gather, analyse, and interpret student feedback on waste management and sustainability issues.
- Advocacy: Learn how to advocate for sustainable practices and policies within the university, influencing change through student input.
- Project Management: Develop skills in managing projects from inception to completion, including setting goals, tracking progress, and evaluating outcomes.
