We are looking for someone passionate about arts engagement, who is fluent in a European language, to join us as a volunteer to gain some skills and experience in a small and dynamic arts charity!
The role will support the research, dissemination and promotion of the Art Explora – Académie des beaux-arts European Award.
About the European Award
The European Award encourages new forms of audience engagement and participation in arts and culture, supporting innovative projects in all art forms across Europe. There are 5 awards which total funding of €180,000, including one Audience Choice Award and one Special Jury Award.
What You'll Do
Each year, we focus on new regions and counties in Europe to encourage wider dissemination and awareness. In 2025, we are concentrating on Central Europe (Germany specifically), Italy and the West Balkans, to encourage new organisations to apply and help them with the application process.
- Online research on arts organisations and innovative arts engagement work in these target areas, and then contact the arts organisations in these target areas to explain and present the European Award and how to apply. This work can be done in English but additional European language skills are a plus!
- Help organise a webinar to support the dissemination of the Award to inspire and inform potential candidates all over Europe.
- Research non-profit cultural organisations in Europe
- Update contact details for Art Explora European Award candidates and potential candidates
- Develop a thorough understanding of past Art Explora European Award recipients and potential new candidates
- Update and combine Award mailing lists
- Work with the Head of International Development to plan and deliver information webinars on the Award
We are looking for a minimum of 2 days per week for a minimum of one month between mid-March and mid-July.

This is arts programming for maximum social impact!
You will learn about:
- the operations of a small non-profit in the arts sector in London.
- Art Explora and its global ambition to share arts and culture with everyone, and break down the barriers to accessing cultural experiences.
- the operations of an award / grant programme, understanding about the need for clear guidelines and eligibility criteria, application guidance and support.
- our community programmes bringing the arts into care setting like care homes and children’s centres, with an opportunity to observe or take part.
- the incredible variety of social-impact arts programmes across Europe – across all art forms (visual arts, performing arts, dance, theatre, music, literature, etc) and social contexts.
We are looking for individual who is passionate about increasing access to arts and culture. We are looking for a self-starter who is excellent at desk research, has strong verbal and written communications skills, has a good grasp of the Microsoft office suite, and - ideally – someone who brings some European language skills! We are particularly looking for German, Serbo-Croat, Italian, Greek, Polish, but any European languages are helpful.

Similar Opportunities
Every week we provide a lunch for isolated older people in Victoria. We provide jacket potato with various fillings and a hot meal in winter. the lunch is run by volunteers. We require volunteers on a Wednesday from 11.00 - 2.30.
We are looking for volunteers who can commit at least 4 hours a week on an ongoing basis. Full DBS check and travel expenses covered. Volunteers receive information, advice and training Weekly meetings are held on Saturday for 1 hour
As a Cooking Volunteer you’ll join the kitchen team to help produce a three-course vegetarian meal using surplus food. You’ll contribute to recipe ideas, help with prepping the food, cooking the meal, and of course clearing up afterwards!
