Essential Digital Skills Training - Support Volunteers

What You'll Do: 

Power to Connect work to close the digital poverty divide across Wandsworth. 

 

As part of this, our Essential Digital Skills course supports refugees, asylum seekers and migrants by helping them get started online. Attendees receive a P2C refurbished laptop and over the course of 4 weeks are supported to learn skills including the use of Google tools, email management, office software and online safety.

 

Volunteers play a vital part in the successful running of this course in both helping to ensure everyone receives a good level of support and in helping us to ensure that attendees speaking a range of languages including: Arabic, Urdu, Spanish and French understand the course content and can fully participate.

What We're Looking For: 

This role is suitable for someone who is patient and empathetic, with a good understanding of basic digital skills and a willingness to share them with others, who can communicate effectively even when language may sometimes be a potential barrier.
