Marketing and Outreach Coordinator (Volunteer)

Help us spread the word about our free knitting club by working with us one day a week.

What You'll Do:

Help us spread the word about our free knitting club by working with us one day a week. YKWU brings together multiple generations to connect with the fashion industry through the craft of knitting. We host monthly knitting sessions that are free for the community to attend, and we are looking for volunteers to help us by encouraging new members and sharing industry opportunities with existing members.

You will work with us by sharing what we do via our social media platforms; connecting with partners and ensuring our in-person sewing sessions are planned.

Why You'll Love It:

Colèchi is a fashion research agency working with brands, government and education to co-create projects and activations in collaboration with their communities. We are a collective working together across London. Join our community of interesting people working at the intersection of fashion, supply chains, craft and sustainability. You will also have access to our insights which highlight the various opportunities available across the clothing supply chain.

This is also a great opportunity to build your creative portfolio if you are looking to build public facing content.

What You'll Learn:

You'll learn a variety of skills through tasks such as putting together social media posts, creating flyers, connecting with partners, updating our event platform, ensuring that we have enough materials and creating contact lists. You will also understand how to put together a marketing and outreach strategy to attract attendees to an event. You will also gain insight into pre-production and post-production for small scale events.

What We're Looking For:

This is a flexible role. However, for the first month we will expect volunteers to work with us at our Canning Town studio for training and to understand the brand, from then on you may work remotely. We are looking for volunteers with skills in social media, research and graphic design - which we will help you expand.

An Interest in climate change, social justice, sustainability, consumerism and the fashion industry is a bonus.

Crossbones is a stone's throw away from London Bridge and was boarded up and closed for many years. Behind the hoardings is a post-medieval, un-consecrated pauper’s burial ground with the remains of an estimated 15,000 people buried there.
