Help out with planning and running our community parties and get-togethers!
We have regular community parties and gatherings which we always need support organising and running. You might help with preparing or giving out food, or with planning activities, or with setting up and clearing up. Or you might want to start by coming to an event as a friend and a guest and get to know people.
- If you enjoying playing host and throwing parties, this is the perfect opportunity for you!
- This is a chance to join a fun community and make new friends.
- It's a flexible commitment and events are usually in the evenings.
- This is an experience that will not only boost your CV, but also your confidence, and will grow you as a person.
- You'll gain experience of party planning, managing a budget, and making events accessible for people with complex needs.
- Being friends with people with learning disabilities changes the way you see the world. You will learn to be more attentive to the world around you and be more open to difference.
- You will learn to communicate more accessibly and there will be chances to have training in sign language.
- You will receive first aid training and a range of other trainings including health and safety and autism awareness.
- Some previous experience of party planning would be beneficial but it's not a problem if not.
- Enthusiasm, organisation, and a willingness to collaborate are important.
