ShoptoDonate Community Volunteer

Get Rid of and Donate has been operating since 2017. Our goals are to alleviate the congestion at landfills of items that are reusable and to support low-income families by donating usable personal and household items.

What You'll Do:

Shoptodonate eco community shop provides outreach support to people and families with access to recycled unwanted items, the shop fundraises for needy people and families through the ongoing cost of living and campaigns against overpolluted landfills. Customers would host the community shop with the following activities

1. Meet and greet new people and families wanting to register to become members to access the project's services, opportunities, and

free donations.

2. Introduce the project to the local community with marketing material and its deliverables and encourage the community to recycle and donate.

3. Receive donations, sort and allocate items for distribution for the projects rough sleepers, refugee & asylum projects.

4. Host the community shop with fundraising and receiving monetary donations for items

5. Introducing/directing to the project external community hubs.

6. General administration and housekeeping, maintaining the communication book (internal) and participating on the volunteer's communication noticeboard.

Why You'll Love It:

The incentive and ethos of Get Rid of and Donate is to promote a change in behaviors and encourage recycling to prevent good items that can help the reduction of poverty in communities and help the disadvantaged communities.  It takes real natural humanity and dedicated support to want to help, if this describes your motivation this would be an organisation that you would like to share your time and give value to its existence, to grow, develop and continue to care for the communities it serves.

What You'll Learn:

Your support will help with the expansion and development of the vision of the project to help and support because we care.

Get Rid of and Donate, have and will continue to assist with living standards for people and families at a time when the living crisis continues to escalate and people are concerned about how they can cope and manage their financial affairs on low incomes, benefits and also people without any sort of revenue.

The social change we envision in the project will help and improve the economic burden and living crisis by providing essential living items, elevating pressure on financing for food, and clothes, heating their homes, and survival of living on the streets.

GROAD support can help with the relief of mental health and anxiety which also includes the prevention of poverty, criminality domestic abuse and suicide across the backgrounds of people the project supports and engage with. By diverting perfectly serviceable items from our city’s landfills, we can help chip away at this large issue and contribute to a sustainable future, while helping members of our community who are in need. The project will be able to improve people’s lives and make a contribution, being a support network for times of need, to assist in the demand sourcing and delivery of items such as large furniture to families and provide opportunities for individuals to get involved and volunteer and support the project of reaching out.
