Join our Scout group as a Team Member Volunteer and help give local young people new opportunities and skills
The Scout section (10 to 14 years old) is about spending time with friends, working as part of a team and participating fully in the adventure of life.
Scouts take part in a balanced programme that helps them to find out about the world around them.
Being outdoors is important and half the programme is given over to taking part in scouting skills, such as camping and cooking as well as adenturous activities, from abseiling to yachting.
As a Scouts Team Member you will:
- help provide young people with new skills and opportunities to help set them up for life,
- participate in lots of fun activities
- meet once a week for 90 minutes each Tuesday evening. You can come as little as once a month or every week to help out, if you wish.
Being a Scouts volunteer is incredibly rewarding. You'll be proving young people with new skills and opportunities to help set them up for life, as well as get to partcipate in lots of fun activities!
- valuable transferable skills - team working, working under pressure, managing conflict, leadership and organisational skills.
- practical skills - starting a fire, putting up a tent, climbing... the list is only constrained by our imagination and time! The skills you'll learn and your experiences as a Scout leader are fantastic examples for competency based interviews.
We are looking for enthusiastic adults to help us deliver a fun programme for our Scouts. Whatever your skillset, this is a great opportunity to lend a hand (for as little or as much time), to the development of young people.
