Tour Guide with St Mary le Strand

We are looking for volunteers to steward t he church pointing out interesting historical facts to visitors and making them feel welcome.

What You'll Do:

You'll come to the Church for a 2 or 4 hour period, once a week or once a fortnight – commitment to be made on a rota.  No problem if you want to bring your laptop or a book but, please don’t forget to look out for visitors! Some may wish to chat or be given a short tour, others will come to the Church for peace and quiet.

Why You'll Love It:

There's always something going on and interesting people to meet. You feel you are being helpful.  The pedestrianisation of East Strand has recently been launched, it’s very exciting being at the beginning of something new and being able to pool ideas.

What You'll Learn:

You'll learn the history of the Church, how to interact with a wide variety of people, many from different parts of the world. Develop communication and people skills and gaining confidence.

What We're Looking For:

Friendly and welcoming to whoever comes into the church, for whatever reason people, flexibility, interest in the history of the Church and its proposed restoration within the newly pedestrianisation of the East Strand.
