Welcome Host Volunteer (Summer 2023)

Love theatre, music and dance? Looking for a flexible summer volunteering opportunity? Welcome Host volunteers help ensure that every visitor to the Royal Opera House knows who we are, what we offer, and how to get involved.

What You'll Do: 
  • Welcome and greet visitors
  • Share information and answer questions
  • Give directions within the building and Covent Garden area
  • Accompany tour groups to ensure they stay together during their visit
  • Help to manage queues and spaces at busy times
  • Assist Front of House staff in keeping everyone safe

As a volunteer you can:

  • Claim travel expenses (up to £13.50 a day) and refreshments up to £4 (if volunteering for more than 4 hours)
  • Enter ticket draws for rehearsals of Royal Ballet and Royal Opera performances
  • Enjoy free access to ROH Stream to learn about our work and repertoire
  • Go to volunteer social events and celebrations
  • Apply for internal vacancies
  • Get feedback on interviews if applying for a job at the ROH
