We are looking for volunteers to support pupils from low-income backgrounds in English or maths. You’ll work with 1-3 pupils to improve their English and maths, either in-person or online.
Volunteering for just one hour per week is a rewarding way to make a difference to the lives of disadvantaged young people. You’ll be supporting them to build their confidence and help ensure they leave school with the grades needed to build a bright future - all while developing your own experience.
- Children are hilarious! They are also very grateful for your support.
- You will gain valuable teaching and tutoring skills.
Through tutoring with us our volunteers are able to develop a wealth of transferable skills, including:
- Facilitation.
- Initiative.
- Working with children.
- Communication.
- Planning.
- Emotional intelligence.
- Resilience.
We look for volunteers who:
- Have or are studying for a degree (in any subject).
- Have a B grade (or above) at A Level (or equivalent) in the subject they wish to tutor, or a similar subject.
If your qualifications do not match these requirements, we still encourage you to apply. We take all previous experience into consideration, so please include anything you think might be relevant.
