Events & Communication Administrator

The Events and Volunteer Administrator will work closely with the project coordinator and deliver a diverse portfolio of promoting the project's campaign to reduce, reuse and recycle protecting the environment reducing waste to landfill

What You'll Do: 
  • Maintaining an elevated level of administration.
  • To be the first point of contact liaising and communicating
  • To work with the wider Marketing and Communications with external partners and seek promotions, make leads, and follow up on opportunities.
  • To create a fundraising campaigning event and organise seasonal events.
  • To provide activity and summary of planned events.

We are an environmentally led community project focused on recycling and sustainability, thereby reducing our carbon footprint and addressing poverty in our communities.  

 

Since March 2017, recognising the need for sustainability initiatives in our local communities and noticing the unprecedented dumping of waste on our streets, we started collecting unwanted items from people in the communities. We have found the local community willing to support our campaign on ‘Global Warning & Climate Change’ making efforts to reduce landfills to protect the environment.  

 

What You'll Learn: 

By supporting Get Rid of and Donate, you will support assist with living standards and for people and families at a time when the living crisis continues to escalate and people are concerned about how they can cope and manage their financial affairs on low incomes, benefits, and also people without any sort of revenue. Working within a team of dedicated volunteers who care for the needs and to make a change in our communities.

 

With the support of volunteers, we can look to make a social change, envision the project will help and improve the economic burden and living crisis by providing essential living items, elevating pressure on financing for food, and clothes, heating their homes, and survival of living on the streets. By contributing time, donations, and awareness of the environmental impact.

 

GROAD support can help with the relief of mental health and anxiety which also includes the prevention of poverty, criminality domestic abuse, and suicide across the backgrounds of people the project supports and engage with. By diverting perfectly serviceable items from our city’s landfills, we can help chip away at this large issue and contribute to a sustainable future, while helping members of our community who are in need. Your support project will be able to improve people’s lives and make a contribution, being a support network for times of need, to assist in the demand sourcing and reaching out. 

 

What We're Looking For: 

Hours: Flexible/Shared Role *2-4 days a month

 

Location: Remote Working/Community Hub

We are looking for volunteers who can commit at least 4 hours a week on an ongoing basis. Full DBS check and travel expenses covered. Volunteers receive information, advice and training Weekly meetings are held on Saturday for 1 hour
